Robots the only things alive? No, in the book Robopocalypse  by Daniel H. Wilson, robots have taken over the whole world. Some humans remain nu not for long when it hits zero hour all robots turn against you and will annihilate the entire human race. All throughout the world scatters of groups remains. They have to have an uprising and make an effort to fight against the robots. These last few groups must survive and overcome the uprising before zero hour.

If  there is no trust no hope what chance of survival do we have. Every chapter there is a new story a new character. Every chapter it focuses on a  new topic with that character and there input on what is going on around them. All the characters in the book all have similarities with one another which  makes them a saviour. These characters became heroes because they gained hope and trust with other survivors. Zach one of the refugees of the robot camps runs away from the camp and he becomes friends with this boy Cormack and they go on this adventure throughout the book and they later become the "bright boy squad"

All these survivors became heroes because they all made sacrifices that were matters of live and death. These sacrifices these people made these people heroes for what they did and there outcome of there events. These sacrifices were made to save others and put there life on the line for a other persons safety. One of the characters from the book Luke sacrifices his life to save a bunch of poor sheep's and he did. This shows the type of sacrifices that were made.

In conclusion this book was a very intreging and very interesting. When i would read this book i would visualize the content that i was reading and it had this modern feeling to it and it was nice. Daniel Wilson did an incredible job envisioning the future throgh literture and it had a very nice essesnce to it and it had a very nice flow.

Nonfiction reading response

In the article "The Natural" by Mike Tierney.The article talks about Zach Hodskins a boy who was born without a left hand and a forearm. Zach Hodskins, a 6'4 beast at basketball  and a student at the University of Florida  doesn't let his disability bring him down. Instead he harnesses his disability and plays basketball. Mike Tierney does an interview with Zach Hodskins and he states that he plays basketball not just because he loves the sport and he enjoys playing it, he wants to prove that he is just as good as everyone else that plays basketball. Zach also states that he wants to help everyone with disabilities around the world.

Zach faced many challenges when he played basketball. He was always determined to play better and he would practice non-stop just to be good.  He wanted to prove his strength and he just wanted to get better.With the help of all his coaches Zach had worked a lot to build up strength  he needed. With a lot of help and lots of training Zach had become a 6'4 beast with incredible passing skills and he had amazing ability to sink shots in from an where. Zachs dad states that he is not treated differently at  home and outside. They don't let his disability get in the way of there family.

Zach is a very confident and determined kid. A scouting service uploaded a clip of  Zachs highlights on YouTube and it went viral with more than 4 million views.  After many people viewed the video  they were inspired by him and seeked  advice from him and so they contacted him. Zach gladly helped all the people. Zach gave them the confidence they needed he help them embrace there disability and made them happy about it.

In conclusion this article was really inspiring to me. Zach is an amazing kid that proves that having a disability is not something you have to hide. Zach does a very good job proving it through his basketball skills and how he is so successful.

Reading Response on Please Don't Take my Air Jordan By: reg e. gaines

 
     Some people will go the extra mile to get what they want and look good. In the poem "Please Don't take my Air Jordans" By  reg e. gaines, the main character or the speaker shoots a guy and then steals his sneakers just to look good for others.He does this so that he has new gear and he can feel accepted by his friends . This shows that he doesn't care about how other people feel and so the speaker just does it to look good.

The main character in the poem needs to have the best gear, or he will be judged by others. He gets all his gear by stealing from mall's and other stores so that he can have a good vibe. This is shown in the quote, “but I really must get some new gear soon or my ego will pop like a ten cent balloon” This quote shows that the gear he has now is going out of style and if he doesn't get something new soon he will be judged by others. His peers would judge him because he doesn't have the newest gear, and his looks mean everything to him. If he does not have the newest gear he won't be as "cool" as them.

The speaker wants to get all the new gear yet he has no money so he steals all these things from the mall so he still has all the good gear. Something i noticed was that the speaker commits crime in order to get all his gear. This is shown in the quote, “and I gots no job no money at all but it’s easy to steal fresh gear from the mall” This shows that the speaker has no other way to get his gear because he has no money and so he steals.

In conclusion this poem showed me that some people will do anything to make them feel presentable to others, and they do not regret the outcome. I can kind of relate to this because i also love shoes and will do anything to get them. But i never shot or stole them from anyone. This just shows the kinds of people that we are around.

 I just finished the book "Flight" by Sherman Alexei. "Zits" the main character travels back and forth through time in a violent search for his true identity. This all occurs after the big shooting that Zits caused in the bank, Zits gets shot in the head but "survives" which leads to the travelling back and forth in time. While reading the book I noticed some themes that came up as I progressed through the book. Adolescence ,violence and shame.

  Zits progresses through a change in adolescence. Zit was a troubled kid who would constantly be getting into fights, however through the course of events in the book Zits begins to change. By the end of the book Zits is ready to accept who he is. He is no longer Zits but now he is Michael, and now he has a real family. But I'm beginning to think I've been given a chance. I'm beginning to think I might get un-lonely. I'm beginning to think I might have an almost real family...Michael. My real name is Michael. Please call me Michael."

  "I get into arguments and fistfights with everybody. I get so angry that I go blind and deaf and mute.”  Zit starts off as a very angry and violent kid. One reason why I believe that Zits is really violent is because he is constantly moving from one place to another taking his anger out on everyone around him. Zits's has seen firsthand violence through "flight". After experiencing the violence he realizes that he is unable to change anything, he realizes that the violence had dire consequences. And by realizing how violence affects those around him he realizes that the way he's living is wrong and he's got to change something.

  Zit is overwhelmed with shame, and much of his journey lies in overcoming that shame. He is mostly shamed by his appearance, dominated so much by his acne that he names himself for it. However, he makes little effort to change his appearance because he does not feel worthy. He is more deeply shamed, over the pain of his father's betrayal and of the sexual abuse that made him feel unlovable, which he put up in response to that shame. Ultimately, what Zits learns is that he must accept his shame as a part of himself, realizing that every human battles different degrees of shame, so that he can open himself to the possibility of hope.

In the end Zits aka Michael finds out who his real family is, and understands why his father left him. After travelling through time, seeing and experiencing all the action and violence that has been portrayed throughout the course of the book Zits realizes his mistakes and changes who he is and starts his life over.  This relates back to the themes Adolescence, violence and shame is what created Zits and it is effective in the story.
